While I was researching some dope on the pope today, I clicked on the Holy See’s website. Once there, you can click on an intriguing link called “Secret Archives.” Here’s all you get, quite appropriately:

oh, i know, v. i didn't give the link. i'm sorry. my bad. but you have a point--what do they do? what do these "princes" do at all? trickery seems possible. recent developments may take me there in mid-July. if it comes to fruition, i make the solemn promise to uncover this mystery for all of us...
oh, wait, i forgot to reveal the knowledge i already have of gli italiani: july-september=vacation. hmm. still does not reveal what they DO with the archives during that time. i'll venture to guess they let it rot.
